Nooked vs Planner 5D
Planner 5D is a full home-design tool: draw a floor plan, furnish it from its own catalog and see it in 3D. Nooked does one narrower job: it takes a real product from a shop page and checks whether it fits your room at its real size.
Choose Nooked when
- You are shopping for real furniture and want to test a specific product from a shop against your room.
- You want the size read from the product page, not a similar-looking catalog piece.
- You want clear warnings when a gap is too tight: walkways, the coffee table, dining chairs, door swing.
- You are deciding between pieces from different shops and want price, size and fit side by side.
- You are furnishing a home with someone else and want to plan it together.
- You want help with colors: palettes built from a piece you love or already own.
Choose Planner 5D when
- You want a more complete 2D and 3D home-design environment.
- You want to walk through the room in 3D or make realistic renders.
- You are designing a whole house or renovation, walls and all, rather than deciding on one piece.
- You want a native app on Windows, Android or iOS, or tools aimed at designers and architects.

The Main Difference
Planner 5D starts from a blank plan and helps you imagine a finished room. The furniture comes from its catalog, which means the sofa on your plan is a stand-in for the one you will actually buy.
Nooked starts from the piece you are about to buy. The size comes from the shop page, and the question it answers is narrower: does this one fit, with room left to sit, walk and open the doors?
Worth Knowing About Planner 5D
The free plan opens half of the catalog. The full catalog, standard renders and turning an uploaded floor plan into a project need Premium, at €19.99 a month or €59.99 a year. 4K renders, 360° walkthroughs and CAD export are in Professional, at €49.99 a month or €399.99 a year (prices shown in euros, October 2026).
The pieces are catalog models, so the sofa on your plan is usually a look-alike of the one you want to buy. You can resize it, but the measurements come from you, not from the shop, so you still need to look up the real product's size yourself.
It is a big tool with features aimed at designers and architects too, so expect to spend some time learning it before you get a quick answer to a simple question like whether one sofa fits.
Using Both
They do not compete for every job. Plenty of people sketch a layout or a renovation in a 3D tool, then check the actual products they are about to order in Nooked.
Common questions
- Is Nooked a Planner 5D alternative?
- For one job, yes: checking whether a real product from a shop fits your room before you buy it. If you want to design a whole home in 3D, with renders, Planner 5D is built for that and Nooked is not.
- Does Nooked have a 3D view like Planner 5D?
- No. Nooked works on a 2D floor plan at real scale, plus a moodboard of the pieces. It does not show the room in 3D or make renders.
- Can I use products from real shops in Planner 5D?
- Planner 5D furnishes rooms from its own catalog of more than 10,000 items, half of them on the free plan. Nooked reads products, with their sizes, from any shop page you paste a link to.
We make Nooked. Facts about other tools come from their own websites and, where those say little, published reviews. Checked on 7 October 2026. Sources: planner5d.com, Planner 5D pricing.
